But Development Group is a privately held, full-service real estate development and management company with a focus on maximizing returns through strategic partnerships with industry leaders in banking, lending, construction, and management. Our founders honed their skills in project management and development through experiences in the family's manufacturing and food business, where they oversaw the buildouts of factories in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
In the wake of the 2008 real estate market crash, But Development Group saw a significant opportunity to invest in tax-abated single-unit condos across New York City. This marked the beginning of our journey into real estate development, starting with the acquisition and redevelopment of a 5-unit rental building in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Today, this property remains under our ownership and management and serves as a testament to our commitment to quality and value.
As we continue to grow and evolve, our focus remains on identifying and acquiring under-utilized and/or non-performing assets, with the goal of adding value and achieving record returns. Cody But
Cody But is a co-founder of But Development Group, where he leads new business development, sales & marketing, financing, and construction management.
He has a diverse background, having previously worked as a Risk Consultant for KPMG in NYC and co-founding an Asian-inspired modern café during his college years. In addition to his work with But Development Group, Cody also operates a real estate consulting business and a construction supply company, where he provides access to high-demand materials to contractors throughout New York.
Cody holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems from Binghamton University.
Alton But
Alton is a co-founder of But Development Group, where he is responsible for making investment decisions and overseeing the entire real estate process.
Before founding the company, he gained experience in supply chain and procurement across various industries and companies. Alton's passion for food and cooking led him to cook at several renowned restaurants in NYC and start an Asian-inspired food and beverage manufacturing business that now operates and sells products globally.
Alton holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Global Management, and a minor in Chinese from Binghamton University.
